The "2020 Global Economic Transformation in the Context of coVID-19" online seminar was successfully held

On July 3rd, the "2020 Global Economic Transformation" seminar hosted by The Institute of International Economics of The University of International Business and Economics was successfully held online. The seminar focused on research findings and the latest research trends related to "World Economic Changes in the context of the epidemic". Professor Sang Baichuan, Dean of The School of International Economics, UIBE attended and delivered a speech. The seminar was chaired by Professor Zhuang Rui, Deputy Dean of the School of International Economics. Scholars, teachers and students from universities and research institutes who are interested in this field participate in watching the live broadcast of the conference and conducting online discussions.

In his speech, President Sang Baichuan congratulated the symposium and fully affirmed the research significance of this field. In the keynote speech, Professor Lin Guijun, former Vice President of The University of International Business and Economics, took the topic "The Content and Countermeasures of Sino-us decoupling" as the topic, and analyzed the changing trend of global pattern and China's countermeasures from the perspective of why and what decoupling is. Professor Wang Jinbin, Executive Deputy Secretary and Vice President of The Party Committee of School of Economics, Renmin University of China, with the title of "Great Changes in global Finance under the impact of the epidemic" and from the perspective of the financial market, put forward his thoughts on the financial cycle and the internationalization of RMB under the impact of the epidemic. Professor Zhang Xiaotao, Dean of the School of International Economics and Trade, Central University of Finance and Economics, titled "Changes in the International Production System under Long-term Trends and Short-term Shocks", interprets issues such as the principle of efficiency of transnational corporations and mutual trust between countries in combination with the needs and needs of domestic economy. Professor Sheng Bin, Director of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences and dean of the School of Economics, Nankai University, with the title "Economic Globalization under the impact of the Epidemic", elaborated on the prospect of the global economic order and put forward the direction of raising globalization from the level of economic and trade cooperation to the level of dialogue and integration among civilizations. Liu Yingkui professor, Director of the institute international investment research to the influence of the industrial chain of China and the countermeasures and Suggestions based on "epidemic", from the world's industry layout and the change trend, combined with China's position in the global industrial chain, the impact on the national epidemic, puts forward the strengthen scientific and technological innovation, promote industrial international competitiveness and so on specific proposals. Professor Guo Zhouming, President of China Business Press and executive Director of China Business Think Tank, entitled "The impact of coVID-19 on the world and China's economic and trade Development", proposed that China should strengthen its weak links, adjust its direction, and improve and optimize its business environment to meet the challenge under the impact of the epidemic.

In the second half of the seminar, Professor Li Jiaguang, assistant dean of the Institute of International Economics, University of International Business and Economics, asked "Will coVID-19 end the current round of economic globalization?" From the perspective of comparing the two rounds of economic globalization, the author puts forward the conclusion that it is difficult to reverse the economic globalization in the future and the probability of continuous consolidation is high. Professor Guo Guixia, School of International Economics, University of International Business and Economics, with the title "Reflections on the Development of Fintech in the Context of the rapid development of Fintech in China", elaborated on the importance of differentiated distribution of local fintech development. Associate Professor Lili from the Institute of International Economics of the University of International Business and Economics explained the current problems and challenges in the global value chain with the topic of "Several Observations and Reflections on the Reconstruction of the Current Global Value Chain Rules and Order". Assistant Researcher Tian Liu from the Institute of International Economics of the University of International Business and Economics explained the importance of cooperation and mutual exchange between countries with the theme of "Making Globalization More Inclusive", from the perspective of the labor market, combined with the cost of labor transfer.

After the expert's speech, the meeting was fully exchanged and the atmosphere was warm, which showed the collision and confrontation of ideas.
