From November 4th to 5th, 2021, the 2021 Annual Meeting of the Academic Advisory Council (AAC) of the United Nations Forum on Sustainability Standards (UNFSS) was held at the European University Institute. Co-hosted by UNFSS, the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies and the German Development Institute (DIE), the conference theme was "Adoption of Voluntary Sustainability Standards, Frontiers in Impact and Effectiveness Research". The meeting was attended by AAC members and policy experts from various disciplines and backgrounds. The meeting is held online and offline. As a member of AAC, Professor Li Li from our institute was invited to give a speech titled "The impact of VSS to vulnerable groups and the possible way forward", on the impact of the current voluntary sustainability standards on vulnerable groups and the future development direction. Her own views aroused the attention of the participating experts and conducted further exchanges with the participating experts on related issues.
